Why it exists

We built it after a map sent us to a dry station

Refuelia started on a night drive. Our fuel map showed every station in green, just because it existed. The one we chose had been out of fuel since morning, and the map could not show that.

So every status on Refuelia shows its source and its age. It might be a confirmation from twenty minutes ago. Or it might say “No fresh report”.

What matters most is how fresh a report is. A station can run out of fuel between one driver and the next. A status six hours old is no longer fresh. So the status fades on purpose. When a report is too old, the pin drops the status. Its colour still shows what the station sells.

Only a driver at the station can tell the next driver what is there. At the station? Report it in two taps, no account needed. The next driver sees it with the minute you sent it. This is why coverage grows fastest where people drive most.

Refuelia launched in the summer of 2026. It grows one driver report at a time.

Each source does one job. We do not estimate data, guess it from traffic or buy it from a broker.

Where the station is

Where stations and chargers are, their opening hours, fuels and connectors. From OpenStreetMap, counted and dated.
official feeds
Prices where a country publishes them

France, Spain and Italy publish prices station by station. We read those feeds, but show one national figure per fuel, not a price for each station. The United States feed is a weekly national average at source. Germany’s Tankerkönig feed is read for station prices on the map, but it has no national average, so Germany has no row in the price table.

What drivers report

Fuel or no fuel, a queue, a working charger, the price at the pump. Drivers send it from the station in a few taps. Where there is no official feed, a price shows only when a driver adds one.

Each pin shows the source and the age of its status. The status colour fades as it gets old. How pins work

Five rules every pin follows

No invented prices · no fake availability · no fake activity · no paid ranking for stations.

If we don’t know, we say so.: A pin shows only what is known. When nothing is known, it turns grey and says No fresh report. We do not guess.
Every status shows its age: Availability, queues and prices come from drivers who were at the station. Each one shows the minute it was sent. Old reports fade, then stop counting.
Every status shows its source: The card says if it came from map data, an official feed or a driver. Official figures and driver reports are shown side by side, never mixed into one number.
Disagreements stay visible: If two drivers disagree, the station shows Limited fuel and the card says they disagree. We never average it into green.
The same rules everywhere: Every country gets the same map and the same rules. Where data is thin, the map says so. It does not fill the gap.

How Refuelia is funded

The core map is free and will stay free. Money may come from advertising, optional tools for professionals and station operators, and future partnerships.

Stations cannot pay to change a status. A pin shows only what map data and driver reports say. Paying for advertising does not alter that.
