This site, Refuelia (refuelia.com), is independently operated. Refuelia operates the site and is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected] for general questions or anything related to this policy.
Contact form. If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address and message you provide, so we can reply.
Driver reports, reviews and comments. Contributions such as fuel/queue reports, prices, text reviews and comments require a free account and are stored and shown publicly against the relevant station. They may be displayed together with your chosen public profile name and avatar; your email address is never shown publicly. We also store a hashed technical value (derived from your IP address and the date) to limit spam — we never store your raw IP address.
Saved stations. Stations you save as favorites are stored only in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device or reaches our servers.
Location. If your browser prompts you and you allow it, your location is used only to center the map on you. We don't store it on our servers.

Session recording. If you accept analytics, Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — mouse movement, scrolling and clicks — and can replay a visit, so we can see where the site is confusing rather than guess. It masks text input and content it treats as sensitive by default, and we do not use it to work out who you are. Microsoft processes that data under its own privacy statement. It loads only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner; decline, and it is never fetched at all.
Browsing the map, searching, using your location and filtering never require an account. A free account is only needed to contribute — to publish comments, submit reviews, confirm station information, report prices and build a contributor reputation.
How sign-in works. We offer sign-in through Google; the authentication provider is Google LLC. When you choose to sign in, Google asks for your permission and then shares basic account information with us: your Google account identifier, display name, email address and profile image. We never receive or store your Google password.
What we store and why. We store that Google account identifier, display name, email address and profile image to create and manage your Refuelia account, attribute and secure your contributions, prevent abuse, and show your public contributor profile. Your display name and avatar may be visible to other users next to your contributions; your email address is never shown publicly.
How long we keep it. We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your stored Google profile data is deleted.
Deleting your account and unlinking Google. When signed in, you can delete your account and its personal data from your profile menu, which also removes the Google link. You can also email [email protected] to request deletion, and you can revoke Refuelia's access at any time from your Google Account security settings.
What remains after deletion. Public contributions that others rely on for accuracy (for example a confirmed fuel status) may be anonymised and detached from your account rather than fully removed, so the map stays consistent. Anything that identifies you is deleted.
Reports, reviews and comments you submit are publicly visible on the map. They may be moderated or removed if they violate our Community Guidelines.
When you ask the assistant something, your question is sent to our AI provider to produce an answer. We also keep a copy of the question by itself, for up to 30 days, so we can see which questions the assistant answers badly and improve it.
That copy is deliberately anonymous: it is stored with no account, no session and no IP address, so there is nothing in it that links a question back to you. Before it is stored we automatically strip email addresses, phone numbers and long digit sequences such as card or loyalty numbers. Please still avoid typing personal details into the chat — the assistant never needs them, and free text can always contain something a filter does not catch.
If you are signed in and have saved a vehicle in your profile, the assistant reads it so it does not have to ask about your car every time. That profile is yours: you can change or clear it at any time from your account, and clearing it also stops the assistant seeing it.
We don't sell personal data. We may share data with service providers who help operate the site (hosting, analytics, advertising) under their own privacy terms, or where required by law.
Questions asked of the AI assistant are deleted after 30 days. Contact messages are kept as long as reasonably needed to respond and keep basic records. Reports and reviews are kept to keep the map useful; older, unconfirmed reports naturally become less visible over time (see our Data Accuracy Policy) but aren't automatically deleted.
You can ask us to provide or delete data associated with something you submitted (for example, a contact message or a review) by emailing [email protected] with enough detail for us to find it — such as the email address you used, or the approximate date and station. We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA.
Refuelia isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Every other map draws the first one and stops. The last two are the point: when nobody has checked, this map says nobody has checked, instead of guessing green.
