What the names on an Emirati pump mean

Super 98
The premium unleaded grade, octane rating 98, for engines that ask for it.
Special 95
The ordinary unleaded grade most petrol cars use, octane rating 95.
E-Plus 91
The cheapest unleaded grade, octane rating 91. Use it only if the fuel cap or the manual allows it.
Diesel
Road diesel for trucks, vans and diesel cars. All four are priced per litre in dirhams (Dh).

One set of prices a month

The UAE announces its pump prices once a month, at the turn of the month. The prices have followed the global oil market since the 2015 deregulation, so a month with dearer crude is followed by a dearer month at the pump.

October 2026: about Dh0.60 a litre more on petrol

The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced the October prices on 30 September 2026. Super 98 rose from Dh3.80 to Dh4.40 a litre, Special 95 from Dh3.69 to Dh4.28, and E-Plus 91 from Dh3.61 to Dh4.21. Diesel rose from Dh4.30 to Dh4.80. That is a rise of roughly 16% on the three petrol grades and about 12% on diesel.

Gulf News quoted the committee as saying the adjustment followed the trends in global energy markets. The National attributed the rise to dearer crude in September, with the US–Iran conflict and Red Sea tensions behind it. Prices for November will be announced at the end of October, and they can move either way.
