Orlen stations, and how many are actually counted

Orlen is the largest forecourt network in Poland and one of the largest in central Europe, and after absorbing Lotos it carries several tag spellings on the map at once. They are counted together here.

Across the 213 cities Refuelia counts, at least 112 forecourts are tagged Orlen in OpenStreetMap, in 3 countries. At least, because only the six commonest chains of each city are stored — a Orlen that is seventh in its city is not in this number.

A brand tag is also not a promise the forecourt is open: where a driver has checked recently the map says when, and where nobody has, it says that instead of guessing.

Poland publishes no per-station prices

France, Spain and Italy oblige retailers to publish what each forecourt charges, and Refuelia reads those feeds directly. Poland has no equivalent scheme, so no Polish station on this map shows a price. That is a gap in the data, not in the chain, and it is better stated than papered over with a national average pretending to be a local one.

What is worth checking before you pull in

Opening hours, which grades, and whether LPG is on site — Poland has one of the densest autogas networks in Europe and OpenStreetMap records it per forecourt. All of that is on the station card where a mapper has entered it, and marked unknown where nobody has.

Questions drivers actually ask

Are Lotos sites counted as Orlen?
Where OpenStreetMap has been updated to the new branding, yes. Where a mapper still records the old name, it is counted under that name until somebody edits it. The map follows the map.

Why no Polish fuel price?
Because Poland has no official per-station price feed. Refuelia shows a price only when a source stands behind it.
