Petrol and diesel in Belgium have a legal ceiling. The Federal Public Service Economy (SPF Économie, FOD Economie) sets the maximum price for each fuel under a programme contract with the oil sector and publishes every change before it applies.
On 26 September 2026 the maximum rose to €2.108 a litre for Euro 95 E10, €2.322 for Super 98 E5 and €2.494 for diesel B7. A station may sell below the maximum, so the price at a given pump can be lower than the published figure, never higher.
